Charitable status

The University of London is an exempt charity in England and Wales under the terms of Schedule 3, Paragraph 2(c) of the Charities Act 2011.

The charitable objects of The University of London are, "for the public benefit, to promote education of a university standard and the advancement of knowledge and learning by teaching and research; and to encourage the achievement and maintenance of the highest academic standards." Our principal regulator under charity law is the Office for Students which ensures our obligations under charity law are fulfilled.
