How to pay your fees

You can pay your fees in a number of ways, both online and offline. These include an online payment facility, your Student Portal, in person and via telephone. For details of when you may be eligible for a refund see the Refund and compensation policy.[PDF]

Pay your fees online

You can use our online payment facility to pay by credit or debit card.

If you are paying an outstanding fee, please log in to your Student Portal. (Select 'My Account' and follow the instructions.)

If you want to pay online but do not have Portal access, please contact the Student Advice Centre.

Pay your fees offline

If you are unable to pay online, we accept a number of offline payment methods.

Remember that any methods which involve the postal service will increase the time it takes to receive and process your payment. This may delay the dispatch of materials or other services.

We also recommend you use secure post or registered mail.

Western Union - Quick Pay

Fees can be paid via a local Western Union Agent (Quick Pay method only). Once complete, you will be issued with a Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) from Western Union and the payment confirmation. Please send this to our Fees Office with a completed Offline Payment Form.

Bank Transfer (PG only)

Postgraduate students can pay via bank transfer and will be provided with the details when you register or enter for your exams. Please refer to the payment methods within the task for details.

Sterling Banker's Draft/Cheque

Sterling Bank Drafts/Cheques should be made payable to 'University of London'. They should be in Pound Sterling, and show the name, address and sort code of the UK bank where it may be presented for payment.

Please print your student number, full name and date of birth on the reverse, then send to our Fees Office with a completed Offline Payment Form.

Telephone Payments

Once you have completed your online task and selected 'Offline Payment method', call our Fees Office on +44 20 7862 8360 and pay the outstanding balance using a credit or debit card.

Please note that the Fees Office staff will only take payment from the cardholder.

In person

You can pay in person by cash or card at the Registry and Advice Centre.

Due to changes in regulations, we cannot accept cash payments in excess of £1,000. If your fee exceeds £1,000, please use an alternative method listed above.

Students from Nigeria

Nigeria has currency exchange restrictions which may prevent you from paying your fees in full. As an alternative you should select the ‘offline payment’ option and either:

  • Submit two bank transfers (Postgraduate only) or two sterling banker's drafts.
  • Notify the Fees Office that you want to make part payments by credit/debit card; Login to the Portal, Go to 'Ask a Question', followed by 'Log an enquiry'.
