More information

Are you eligible?

To be eligible, you must begin the Master’s programme in the 2018/19 academic year. You must also meet the following criteria:

  • You must meet the nationality and residency requirements in the Master’s Loan England eligibility criteria.
  • You are not undertaking any other forms of formal education.
  • You have not previously held employment as a cyber security professional (cyber security cannot have been over 50% of a previous job role).
  • You must supply an up to date criminal record check (a criminal conviction certificate).
  • You have not previously been awarded a bursary under the DCMS Cyber Security Postgraduate Bursaries Scheme.

In selecting the students for the scholarship, bursary allocation preference guidance will:

  • Take into account the strength of the original application to the MSc.
  • Give additional scoring weighting to women applying for the programme. This is in line with the scheme’s focus of helping address the underrepresentation of women in the cyber security profession.

How to apply

The application deadline is Friday 31 August 2018.

The scholarships are provided as part of the Department for Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) scheme seeking to facilitate and encourage more candidates into careers in cyber security by taking NCSC-certified Masters.
