Core Concepts of Supply Chain Management

Expected to be available to study from October 2019

This module, which is compulsory for all award paths, provides you with an overview of essential supply chain related concepts as a foundation to understand the more specialist concepts and frameworks, covered in other modules.

This module will help you develop the critical analysis and synthesis skills required for MSc level study You will explore the practical side of SCM by analysing global case studies which illustrate how company’s competitiveness can be impacted by successful supply chain management.

Assessment

Coursework (30% weighting) - The coursework assessment will be based on a 2500 word assignment in which students are required to critically analyse the supply chain of a company.

Examination (70% weighting) - The final assessment will be based on a two-hour unseen written examination including multiple-choice and essay-type questions.

Pass Mark - To pass this module you must get a mark of at least 50% in each element of assessment, subject to the application of rules for compensation. Please see the programme regulations for more information.
