Introduction to Numerical Mathematics, delivered on the Coursera platform, is designed to give students the mathematical foundations needed to work in computer science in any of its strands, from business to visual digital arts, music and games.

About this course

The course covers binary and other number bases, some tools to make sense of sequences of numbers, how to represent space numerical using coordinates and also how to study variations of quantities via functions and their graphs. Throughout the course you will be asked to use these skills to tackle computing and everyday life problems, from sending secret messages to designing computer graphics.

This course is a taster of the Numerical Mathematics degree module, from the BSc Computer Science programme.
