Operations and Process Management

Available to study April 2020

This module is offered to provide supply chain professionals with a foundational knowledge in operations management.

You will examine how to design, coordinate and improve processes to enhance the organisation’s performance. You will gain insights into the process-based view of an organisation and its application on a functional, organisational an inter-organisational level. You will discover how to apply frameworks and tools to evaluate challenges and provide recommendations.

Assessment

Coursework (30% weighting) - The coursework assessment will be a 2500 word report on either a self-selected or tutor provided company, analysing the major operations challenges, and providing reasonable recommendations for operations improvements.

Examination (70% weighting) - A two-hour unseen written examination including multiple-choice and essay-type questions. The questions will be based on the topics covered in the module and through the assigned readings.

Pass Mark - To pass this module you must get a mark of at least 50% in each element of assessment, subject to the application of rules for compensation. Please see the programme regulations for more information.
