2018 has been a momentous year for discussions around gender and power in professional sectors. But can international conversation impact local practises?
This October, the University of London will welcome leading professionals from the sectors of law, technology and business to debate attitudes towards gender politics from three of Malaysia’s key professional sectors.
Chaired by Dr Mary Stiasny, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) and Chief Executive of the University of London’s flexible and distance learning programmes, the event will ask whether attitudes towards gender roles in the workplace render parity achievable, and discuss the challenges still in place for women in leadership positions.
This event will form part of the University’s Worldwide Conversations, part of the University of London’s 2018 Leading Women Campaign, celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the University introducing ‘Special Examinations for Women’, which ten years later led to the opening up of full degrees for women.
Further details, including how to register your place, will be announced in the run up to the event. If you are a University of London graduate living in Malaysia then please contact email@example.com to ensure that you receive your invitation.
