Research seminars and series

A centre for Franco-British academic and cultural exchange for over 150 years, ULIP today continues to be a hub for intercultural and interdisciplinary debate in the heart of Paris.

The Institute attracts speakers from the international academic community, the media, government bodies, and NGOs for regular lectures and debates throughout the academic year. Recent topics have included the ‘Ideology of America First’, ‘Islamophobia in France’, ‘South Africa 30 Years After Mandela’s Walk to Freedom’, the ‘Revocation of Citizenship’, and ‘Decolonising Multilingualism’.

All ULIP events are free of charge and open to all; they are normally followed by a drinks reception. In the context of COVID-19, please make sure you register as soon as possible to make sure you are kept informed of the latest information about the running of our events. For all public events, please present your ticket along with your "passe sanitaire" upon entry (in paper or digital form). You will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the event.
