The University of London staged a special event at the British High Commissioner’s Residence in Kuala Lumpur last month to mark 30 years of University of London engagement with Malaysia. Mr Raja Singham, Founder and Managing Director of BAC Education Group, gave a talk on the Future of Work to an audience of Teaching Centre colleagues, alumni and wider stakeholders. Simon Askey, Dean of Undergraduate Laws, gave a speech and moderated proceedings. Joanne Harris, Associate Director: Student Experience, was also in Kuala Lumpur to develop a raft of new Business Placement opportunities for our students, as a fitting adjunct to our anniversary.
Looking to the future – introducing business placements in Malaysia
The University was delighted to announce plans to launch its award-nominated Business Placement scheme in partnership with high profile companies in this major territory. The scheme is an initiative that is growing year-on-year and is one component of the University’s commitment to enhancing the employability of our students around the world. Malaysia will be the sixth country in which we offer business placements, meaning even more of our students will gain work-based opportunities that help them to stand out in their future career ambitions.
The growing list of companies we hope to welcome to the scheme includes Azmi & Associates, CCA Law, Jardines, Karunamoorthy & Associates, Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill, Shearn Delamore & Co, Wong & Partners, and ZICO Law.
