Visiting the Library

The Library is in Bloomsbury, Central London – a short walk from London Underground, and national railway stations.

We are on the 4th floor of Senate House. Lifts are available on the ground floor (opposite the University of London reception desk, in the South Block). The Collections, study spaces, and reading rooms are on the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th floors – access is via the 4th floor. View Library floorplans, and operating hours.

Visiting the Library

We are on the 4th floor of Senate House. Lifts are available on the ground floor (opposite the University of London reception desk, in the South Block). To ensure a safe study environment, we ask members to stay SAFE.

From 12 April, the Library will be open Monday - Friday 10am-4pm with more study spaces available across floors 4-7. All study space bookings are for 3hrs & must be booked online in advance.

Opening times:

You can now browse the open shelves of the Library again, are books are available for onsite study and to borrow in most cases.  Please ensure you book a 3-hour study slot to use the library whether you need to stay and study or just browse and borrow. This is to ensure that we can monitor occupancy and avoid over-crowding. 

12 April to 14 May: Monday to Friday, 10am - 4pm. 
 
From 17 May: Monday to Friday, 9am - 7pm.

From 29 May: Monday to Friday, 9am - 7pm: Saturday, 10am - 4pm.

Monday 31 May (Spring Bank Holiday):  Closed.

To ensure a safe study environment, we ask members to stay SAFE:

  • Stay alert: check our website or social media for the latest updates before travelling.
  • Always maintain social distancing of 2 metres when seated and moving around the building.
  • Face coverings are to be worn at all times in all Library spaces, unless you hold a valid exemption card.
  • Everyday kindness: collaborate with staff to calmly respond to changes that ensure your safety.
