Thomas Jefferson University is a comprehensive university with pre-eminence in transdisciplinary, experiential professional education, research and discovery, with excellence in architecture, business, design, fashion, engineering, health, medicine, science and textiles - infused with the liberal arts.
The two universities plan on running a joint programme in Urban Design spanning London/Paris/Rome/Philadelphia, building upon the strength of the University of London Institute in Paris' (ULIP) MA in Urban History and Culture programme and Jefferson’s College of Architecture and the Built Environment. Discussions are also in place for a Master of Science programme in Fashion Design/Couture in Paris as well as study abroad programmes for students to follow a liberal arts and humanities curriculum in Paris.
ULIP would also host various short courses and programme options for semester study and discussions are underway regarding the possibility of establishing an administrative support hub for Jefferson students and faculty undertaking academic pursuits in Paris.
The agreements were signed in Paris by Chris Cobb (University of London Pro-Vice Chancellor) and Kathy Gallagher (Jefferson University, Chief Operating Officer).
