London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health, with 4,000 students and more than 1,000 staff working in over 100 countries. The School was named University of the Year in the 2016 Times Higher Education awards.

The School’s dedicated academic staff are leading experts in their fields. They have considerable links with key universities and research institutions around the world, together with extensive academic, practical and international experience.

The School offers 18 London-based Master’s and six via distance learning. The teaching programme is a combination of laboratory-based biological courses and non-laboratory social scientific courses to cover all areas of public and population health, epidemiology, control of infectious diseases and tropical medicine. Research degrees (MPhil/PhD or DrPH) and short professional courses are also offered in many areas of the School’s work.

Graduates go on to work in a range of capacities for NGOs, ministries of health, health services in the UK and overseas, academia, charities and private industry.

Those graduating from the School can set up their own alumni chapters wherever they are in the world. Alumni also benefit from a vibrant and international online community as well as careers guidance
