The global sports industry has an estimated value of some US$600 billion per annum, making it one of the most successful sectors in the world. It is also one of the fastest changing industries, meaning there is a demand for acquiring new knowledge by those already in the sports industry and by those who wish to enter the sporting profession and related fields.

The University of London is therefore delighted to be working with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), a leading educational body that specialises in global sport and major events. WAoS, as the leader in providing customised education to the international sporting community, has the expertise to support the development of our planned new postgraduate programme. WAoS’ partners include not only many major International Sports Federations, but also government bodies charged with developing sports policy.

Aimed at those with an interest in International sports management and innovation, our proposed programme will benefit from the expertise of practitioners who are thought-leaders in the industry. Providing a focus on contemporary cutting edge issues in areas such as new product development; building participation; major events management; the impact of changing media consumption patterns on sports rights owners; and the role of government in sport, this will be an exciting new addition to the University of London offer.
