Zoë Wanamaker

Zoë Wanamaker is an award-winning British actress of American descent.

Zoë Wanamaker has worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. She has also undertaken many roles for TV including a leading role in the long running BBC sitcom My Family alongside Robert Lindsay, and played Ariadne Oliver in six episodes of Agatha Christie’s Poirot. Wanamaker was Madam Hooch in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and returns to the TV screen in 2018 in the new drama series Girlfriends. She was awarded a CBE in 2001 for her services to drama.  

Wanamaker is an Honorary President of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.
